Subject: UA-003 "Portal in the Lake"
Description:
A portal located at the bottom of a lake near Area-48. During the portals activation an electrical phenomenon as well as severe ground tremors can be observed. These events happen far from the portals origin.
Upon activation a variety of an unknown species begins to emerge from the portal and will then burrow into the ground. The creatures have shown hostile intentions towards foundation personnel, and will attack on sight. The creatures vary from small "arachnids", large "ants", and some type of flying Crustacean/Gunship. More research will be required to provide creatures with designations.
Upon entering the portal, users are transported into an unknown forested location. The forest is dark, damp, and varies in temperature quickly from hot to cold due to some unknown factor. It can be theorized that the climate affects certain creatures behaviours.
Several hostile creatures can be found roaming this location. As well as a different specimen that will attempt to latch and pull personnel who have stood in muddy terrain.
Upon a manned foundation expedition inside the portal an unknown purple bipedal corpse was discovered. The body was recovered to area-48 and currently awaits an autopsy. It can be noted that the species is missing an arm and has blue colored blood.
Discovery:
03/01/1985 First reported instance of an electrical phenomenon was reported on the surface around Area-48. A security team was investigated sent to investigate, leading to the discovery of the source being at the bottom of a lake. Before security teams were able to further investigate the lake, an attack occurred from the GRU-P GOI resulting in retreat.
03/02/1985 Tremors followed by the same electrical phenomenon alerted security personnel to the surface of Area-48. Multiple hostile creatures were discovered appearing to have burrowed out from the ground. Security teams began to counter the attack from the creatures until a flying gunship appeared causing mass distress due to lack of anti-air weaponry. An expedition team was sent to the source in the lake while the attack of the facility continued. The expedition team discovered a portal at the bottom of the lake and began exploration. The portal led to a dark forested area where the team was constantly under attack from hostile creatures. As the team continued their expedition they uncovered an unusual body of a new type of creature that had not been seen before. Another surprise attack from GRU-P ensured inside of the portal, leading the team to exfil with the body. The expedition team returned with 1 MIA, and multiple minor wounded and severely wounded personnel.
