Subject SCP/Object: SCP-714
Explain the goal of testing: Understand how SCP-714 affects the human body and internal functions.
Explain your hypothesis: The current working personal theory of SCP-714 for me is that the entity slows all functions down to the cellular level of the human body; inducing feelings of tiredness and exhaustion.
Summarize your process during testing: One D-class was delivered to LCZ Medical Bay at the direction of Medical Director Kingsley; they were hooked up to an EKG and a pulsometer to measure vital signs.
Test Results: Before starting to test; D-class's vitals were taken reading all fairly standard resting rates specifically 76 BPM and normal heart Rythm's and 95% o2 levels in the blood; blood pressure was also normal. Upon the wearing of the ring on the ring finger of the D-class the BPM dropped dramatically by 20 BPM down to 53-56 BPM. All other vital signs remained at their pretest levels. Intrigued the ring was removed from the D-class and the BPM jumped back to normal levels. Despite this sudden shift in heart rate no discomfort or pain was expressed by the D-class or any indication of pain/discomfort made visible.
Seeking to better understand how the SCP affects the body with my original theory proven incorrect, at the suggestion of security and medical staff the D-class was instructed to begin a series of exercise-based actions. While noticeably slower while running nothing else was affected in a major way and even during intense exercise oxygen levels and heart rate did not budge. The effects on the body are not yet understood as working theories such as the body consumes oxygen slower or intakes more were proven wrong by having the D-class hold their breath with the ring on and without the ring on and getting a similar amount of time in both cases, specifically around 60 seconds.
Conclusion: Despite the disproving of my original working theory, I am pleased with the results of the test. As one medical officer put it wearing SCP-714 is akin to putting your body into 'Eco mode' as the body becomes more efficient and adept at everything it does. Upon examination the D-class despite having a slower speed was said to have the physical condition to run a marathon thanks to his stable slow heart rate and incredibly efficient oxygenized blood levels. More testing in the future will look into the longer term effects of SCP-714 on the human body outside this 5-10 minute window of efficiency.
