# G9Vu5X6kcaDe9a2pSTAFF APPLICATIONS ARE CURRENTLY: OPEN
This application section is for the SCP: Cold War staff team only, and is not an application for SCP: War on Terror staff. If you wish to become staff for War on Terror, this is the place to start; the most promising Cold War staff that have expressed interest in joining the War on Terror staff team will be given the decision to join at some point in the future. If you are not interested in War on Terror staff and just want to do Cold War, that is completely fine as well.
Staff applications will be reviewed at the end of the week by the staff team.
1. Activity within the community
If you’re planning to become a staff member, you’ll need to be active in the following:
In-Game - this should be obvious. This would allow your reputation to increase within the community and it may also demonstrate what you should do/should avoid as a member of the Staff Team. Also, this would help you become known by the Staff Team. If you are inactive ingame, your chances of becoming staff are slim.
Forums - Your activity on the forums is important since as you get a higher position within the Community, you will be dealing with ‘forum stuff’ such as checking on suggestions, character auths, staff applications, giving your opinions on them and etc. Being active on the forums as a Member would already give you a head start on what you’ll be doing in the future if you ever get accepted for staff.
Discord - Discord activity is necessary as it allows you to speak with other staff easily. This would also allow Management to easily contact you. It is a requirement.
2. Reputation
Having a good reputation as a user is needed as this would indicate you as a ‘good member’. Being known as a good member would indicate you as a ‘Rule-Abiding’ player rather than a rulebreaker. If you wish to become a staff member, a good reputation is needed. The ability to maintain this reputation is also needed. You should know the staff team that you’ll be working with as this would help you with proper communication and cooperation with your fellows.
3. Know what you are doing.
As a Staff Member, you should obviously know the rules of the community. This applies to the Forums as well, not simply the MOTD. Knowing the rules would allow you to properly enforce the ‘rules’ or ‘law’ within the server without any problems. As a staff member, you should have the sense to remain calm and assess a situation calmly. Freaking out during sits will not help you rise through the ranks and will probably get you demoted as it makes out staff team in general look bad and degrades the community’s reputation among the Garry’s Mod community.
4. Things that you should remember before applying.
Put effort in your application. An application that seems like it took 3 minutes to make will most likely be denied. If you get denied 2 times, you will no longer be allowed to apply without recommendation from Management.
As a staff member, you are expected to be a role model for the players within the server. You should enforce the rules rather than break them. You are held to a higher standard, more so as you rise through the ranks. Keep this in mind.
