INCIDENT LOG 6/6/85

SUBJECT: UA-02

Good morning Researchers, Dr. Jackson here.

Today we had a Unknown anomaly(Now designated UA-02) was discovered in EZ. Security and research were called to the scene. It seemed like a airborne disease that somehow magically came into the foundation. And I was requested to make a log about it.

In the beginning, someone was asked to give a new researcher a tour. and while they were patrolling EZ they stumbled upon a random patch of grass that was seemingly growing out the floor. Security was the first to arrive on seen. and quickly figured they should put on a gasmask and enter due to the conditions of the area. Once they entered they started to inspect the black trees that grew along with the grass. Now unfortunately someone was infected, Provost [REDACTED] said he heard a buzzing in his head and immediately was rushed to med bay where his condition seemed to worsen. His body seemingly grew roots out of his stomach and just his body together. Security was called to the scene and Captain [REDACTED] called for the execution and burning of the subjects body to prevent spreading of the disease. Another Officer also unfortunately became a victim of the disease. He was rushed to Medbay and his body suffered Full body organ failure. FMO's attempted to keep him alive and they had one option and that was to give him one of the apples from the trees.

The trees in Ground Zero in EZ was growing and they were Dark and oozed a yellow substance similar to that of tree sap. How it would work was when directly contacted it would infuse with your bloodstream and you would suffer the same fate as the Provost from before. One of the researchers on site took a sample of blood from one of the victims and put it under a microscope which the theory of the sap was confirmed. He put the sample in the centrifuge and took the sap sample and examined the DNA contents of it. It was completely foreign to anything in this world, Completely alien. Meaning as of that time there was no cure. Another example is when one of the researchers transferred the bark into a petri dish and attempted to isolate and colonize the DNA for sanger sequencing, unfortunately it could not cultivate. Proving yet again it was completely foreign.

THE APPLES AND THE SEEDS:

The apples that fell from the black trees I mentioned before looked just the same as that of a apple. Unfortunately I do not think we checked the DNA of the apples but I presume they were foreign, again. We ran a series of test the apple were required in. I will list them below

Test #1:
This test involved the officer that I mentioned from before. Attempting to save his life people believed that maybe the apples were the cure they feed his one and put him into the heavy testing chamber. He instead became a "plant monster" so security had to terminate the anomaly due to the safety of others. Which then spread the grass to R-wing. It was contained in R-wing fortunately so It was not such a big problem. One of the FMO's and another Officer was struck by the anomaly and were quarantined due to the research division believing they were infected. after a few minutes they proved to not be infected so there wasn't another problem on the floor. Then again this proved the apples were anomalous.

Test #2:
This test involved a janitor, he decided to randomly eat a apple and the whole research division was in panic mode. Security responded and it was in our best decision to put him into the heavy research chamber. Instead of becoming a monster or spewing seeds from his stomach. He fell into a slumber and once he woke up he puked a mysterious glowing rock. THIS WAS A MAJOR BREAKTHROUGH. The grass near the rock began to recede and everyone found the cure. Once token to ground zero where it did not work, everyone was upset. We then force-fed him apples where his body experienced major changes, he began convulsing and fell to the floor. his stomach bulged and then imploded where seeds started to spew out of his stomach.

Test #3:
This Test involved a problematic D-class. We made him Eat another apple. Then he just fell onto the floor and nothing happened. We thought all hope was lost for a while and then he randomly perked back up and threw up the next 2 rock fragments. This was yet another MAJOR BREAKTHROUGH. The D-class was hesitant to give us the rocks but security forced him to hand it over using their very "persuasive" tactics. They then gave all rock fragments to the head researcher. the Head researcher put them together to form a green relic with mysterious carving into the disc. This would indeed be the solution.

The seeds:

I was taking care of the seeds the most. These seemed to be the cause to the dangerous trees that seemed to form unknowingly. Attempts were unsuccessful to try and eradicate the trees as they seemed to grow back faster than we could destroy them. Fire and Bleach were used and so was Hydrochloric acid, all unsuccessful. They trees also had some sorts of moths that surrounded them which is weird because they were white moths and natural selection normally wants them to blend in. which only added to the mysteriousness. The seeds had a Clear liquid that resembled water and when mixed with blood nothing happened. but they were a major addition to the disease cause they caused it, the trees and apples were only a effect. So when they spew from a Janitors stomach its a big problem.

AFTERMATH:

The aftermath was very.. eventful I would say. The relic I mentioned seemed to eradicate the seeds, trees, and grass. It was token to ground zero and the theory was proven. The grass slowly receded and we all were very happy. We took the seeds and the relic and put it in a Temporary chamber in R-wing. It is now classified as UA-02. Although there is a issue, during the early stages a sergeant and researcher found a cube in provost armory. They found a silver ruby ring and a mysterious flute. Now the reason that I mention these items that I would classify as UA-02-1 and UA-02-2 is because we were planning on running testing on them, then something unpredictable happened. The Containment cube they were put in seemingly vanished. We don't know who had them. I think that is the end of this incident log as of now, I will put updates if I miss anything.
