Good morning, evening or night.

I would like to inform Command that at approx. 21:45, GOI GRU-P raided Area-48 as was expected from prior intelligence. Their objective was not clear, but it is safe to assume that they were attempting to take SCP objects to utilize for themselves. They arrived by helicopter to the location, which dispatched a squad before leaving. Thankfully however, with the extensive preparations done beforehand, the attack was completely annihilated.

We can confirm at least five casualties (all deaths) on GRU-P's side. One of the notable casualties we identified was the Major of the respective cell. Our staff took no casualties apart from predictable injuries, none of which are life threatening. No SCP objects were taken, as they had no ability to, and nothing was captured. Two bodies of GRU-P were recovered (the rest were burnt, from what appears to be self inflicted fire injuries) of which no notable equipment was recovered. Damage to the Facility was sustained, however only notable instance was Gate A which is almost completely non-functional after being opened via breaching charge.

This confirms to us that GRU-P is in a weaker position than expected. It seems they lack numbers and equipment to push through prepared defenses if expected prior to the raid. As such, I will be authorizing further research initiatives on the surface to assert our control while the opportunity presents itself. Logistics should also find it easier to transport any supplies needed as I doubt they will be very bold in the coming days.

It is my conclusion that Foundation forces are currently well outpacing GRU-P, and there should be no further concerns for the foreseeable future.

As always,

Re: GRU-P Technological Development

It has come to my attention today that GRU-P have gotten advanced suits of cloaking technology. They attempted to use this technology to enter Area-48 and possibly steal items from us. It is unknown exactly what they intended to get, as they were caught. It appears these suits do not have perfect invisibility when moving, as it creates a "shimmer" effect that allows someone to see the outline of their body.

This comes after a broadcasted message on Public channels as they seemed to have met an outside GOI for some sort of supplies. It is unknown what this GOI is and how they were contacted.

As such, it is my conclusion that I misjudged the capabilities of GRU-P after their recent loss. We will be looking into any further developments.

Re: GRU-P Developments

Thank you for the update.

This changes things. GRU-P having access to outside logistical support is unacceptable. They will continue to supplement loss through these external channels. This must be stopped.

At this stage, we can only inquire what support you expect from our end? If there are particular resources, intelligence, personnel, equipment, or analysis you need to help address this development, please inform us immediately and what we are able to provide will be determined.

In particular, if you need assistance evaluating countermeasures against the cloaking suits, reviewing the reported external contact, or reinforcing security around Area-48, send over the requirements and we will review them promptly.

Please inform us of any additional findings as your investigation continues.

Re: Regional Assistance

The most important issue at the current moment are these new "infiltrator" units being deployed against us. These units only came after this GRU-P cell came into contact with this GOI. As such, we request that intelligence be provided into this GOI and how it got into contact with GRU-P. Further intelligence retrieved on our end will also be provided to assist.

In combination, countermeasures for new infiltrator units will be crucial in these early stages. It has been noted laser sights have been useful in their detection, the lasers themselves get blocked by the body of the infiltrator showing where they are standing. I theorize we may be able to create some sort of laser tripwires if we are provided the means to do so through R&D. Additionally, thermal imaging systems should allow for easier detection of infiltrators as presumably the suits do not mask heat signatures.

Lastly, it is essential that the Director's logistics request for anomalous materials for the Research Department be fulfilled ASAP. There has been no notice from Logistics on when this shipment is due, and I believe it is hampering our ability to keep up with the rapid pace of GRU's technological development.

Re: Defenses Exploited

As Command may or may not be aware, in a recent incident, Dr. Smooth who is the Head of Research for our department, was captured in a GRU-P raid against our facility. They exploited Gate A malfunctioning to covertly enter Area-48 while we were not aware, leading to rapid crumbling of defenses. Alongside Dr. Smooth, they stole SCP-714 though it was recaptured on surface.

In an immediate counter offensive, Dr. Smooth was recovered by an assault team and brought back to safety in Area-48. He was interrogated by Provost, who I assume will make a report later. The radio was not recovered, and is presumed either lost by GRU-P or still held, as such radio communications are undergoing scrambling at this moment.

Obviously, this is problematic. The main issue is that we do not have the resources, I assume, to repair Gate A. I would not completely know, as they did not respond to my email. I am requesting an immediate team dispatched to facilitate repairs and deliver supplies for future repairs. Additionally this highlights the importance of the countermeasures that were listed previously.

I am working tirelessly to keep these attacks back, but it is impossible without adequate support from Command, so I hope that the request will be approved.
