Good morning, evening or night.
Following up on our recent email and conversation, I am informing you that I have collected a statement from Lieutenant Sardine. I will outline summarized responses to questions asked.
Q: Are you familiar with Dr. King?
A: Yes, I am.
Q: Could you please describe the incident with Dr. King?
A: During testing on anomalous objects, Dr. G was warned by myself to stay away from the anomalous objects created in the testing and to maintain the proper seal on his hazmat suit. He failed to do so, touching the anomalous object where his hands gained anomalous properties. He was detained and put into a cell for this. Dr. King then accused me of causing the incident which personally insulted and disrespected me, which I chased him away with a stun baton.
Q: Did you injure Dr. King with the stun baton?
A: No, I only lightly hit him and they only got bruises.
Q: Are you aware this counts as an injury?
A: Well I guess, yeah.
Q: Could you describe the conversation in further detail.
A: After Dr. G was arrested and we were clearing the area he proceeded to berate me for incompetence and being the cause of the incident. I told him that I wasn't, and he continued to cause a scene. I then decided to force him away using the stun baton to get him away.
Q: Did you ask him to leave before or after him assaulting you?
A: Yes, beforehand.
Q: Did you inform anyone after the situation?
A: No, the issue didn't continue so I didn't see a reason to.
Q: Was there any further incident afterwards?
A: No, he ran off and I assume he was trying to get Provost. He may have gotten confused since two researches were arrested. [Possibly referring to Dr. G and an unknown researcher]
Q: Upon retrospection, do you think your actions were wrong?
A: It is hard to say because of the situation surrounding it, I don't believe there was anything seriously wrong with it.
Q: Did you at any point intimidate Dr. King with a gun?
A: Since it was so long ago, I don't remember. I may have.
Q: Did you at any point threaten Dr. King's life?
A: No.
Q: At any point did you override control of the test from research as security?
A: Well yeah, because they failed to take standard safety precautions done by security with the Hazmat suit and improperly handling it. We didn't outright try to stop it but the researchers were failing to abide by safety protocol.
Again, this is paraphrasing, and not exactly what he said.
Given the statements, there is room for disciplinary action, however without further statement's from Dr. King and other witnesses it is difficult to go further than light punishment. It seems based on this individual statement that research had been creating a unsafe environment which spiraled into a minor altercation. As such, unless I get a statement from King in the near future there is little I can do.
Yours,
